Today students received information about the Decades Project. They arranged themselves in groups of three to research and present their findings on a decade of American History. Students will have time during the three class periods after Music Tour to work on this in class. Bring laptops, tablets, etc. to research and write.

Students taught us about one American involved in the Great War. We took notes on three important points to know about each person. Some of these will appear on the test this coming Friday. We will finish teaching on Thursday.
Use the essay questions on the assignments page to practice writing your essays for the test. We watched video of the Great War from The Century. Students answered questions on a film guide handout and we discussed selected events and issues during pauses.
Students divided up into groups of three, then selected an American who was involved in the Great War. Students will tell their person's story in a future class period. Begin reading about your person and finding the story you want to tell. There is no paper to turn in. You may want to dramatize the story, or have each person tell a portion of it. Use presentation software only to show a photograph or two. We began a map exercise of Europe in 1914. Please complete most of this at home. We will take a little time during class next Tuesday to work on it. We ended class with a 19 point quiz over the Great War. Many students scored 18-20 points! |
