We watched a portion of the CNN Student News about the 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the devastation and loss of life it caused in New Orleans.
Students took a 15-point Socrative quiz over Chapter 24. We then watched more video from the National Geographic film Inside 9/11. We finished watching the George W. Bush bio video and completed the handout. Use this in your study for the quiz on Friday.
I told the class my memories of 9/11 and what happened that Tuesday morning at RAA. Students have an assignment to interview an adult about their memories of that day, using the handout they received today. We began watching the National Geographic video Inside 9/11 and will continue after the quiz on Friday. Please download the socrative app to your phone or tablet, or bring a laptop to take the quiz on Friday. Today we studied the disputed presidential election of 2000. Students answered questions based on their textbook reading as I guided them through the material. We then watched a C-SPAN bio of George W. Bush, answered questions based on the film and defined terms related to his life and presidency. We will complete this in class on Wednesday.
On the first day of class students began a Summer News 2015 assignment, identifying the location of ten events, then marking and labeling them on a world map.
